Picture styles, picture balance, raw vs JPEG

There are many different types of picture styles to choose from, For example, there is black
and white, sepia, standard, saturation and contrast. Picture styles can be used to change the 
appearance of a JPEG based image.



RAW is a format that is uncompressed or processed. It contains all the information recorded when the picture was taken, and allows for changes such as picture style and white balance to be made. RAW files are 2-6 times larger than a JPEG.  However,  JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) is a standard format, useable with almost any software. It is a compressed file, which saves space but lacks quality (similar to an MP3) ,It can be manipulated, but loses quality each time you save the file
